In 2020 Melbourne Shakespeare Company partnered with the Alex Theatre in St Kilda. The Alex Theatre is a unique, multi purpose arts venue offering three different theatre spaces is the perfect base for Melbourne Shakespeare Company due to our shared vision of presenting diverse, assessable, affordable theatre for the Melbourne community.
We look forward to presenting a range of events and workshops at the Alex throughout 2021 and beyond.
Melbourne Shakespeare Studio is a new project developed in 2020 and launched in 2021. Melbourne Shakespeare Studio productions are produced and overseen by the company's Artistic Director Jennifer Sarah Dean and aim to give aspiring directors and designers the chance to work in a professional context with some of the industry's best performers, creatives and crew.
Unlike Melbourne Shakespeare Company’s main stage summer productions Melbourne Shakespeare Studio productions will be focussed on some of Shakespeare's darker repertoire and productions may not be suitable for children under 12.
