Melbourne Shakespeare Company holds open auditions twice a year in January and September. This provides performers of all levels the opportunity to audition and potentially work with a professional company.

We accept applications from performers of any gender, cultural background and level of experience.

We are now accepting applications for our December production of The Taming of The Shrew.

7 - 22 December 2019 (No performances on 9 and 16)

The Taming of the Shrew will run for a limited season of 20 performances at the St Kilda Botanical Gardens. This family friendly show will be in MSC's unique style combining live music, larger than life characters and lots of laughs. This action packed piece will run for 90 minutes without an interval.

The Taming of the Shrew will be MSC's most ambitious project with an unusual twist. The audience being able to influence which actors take on which roles each night. Please note, as a result actors will be required to learn more than one role for the production.

We are looking to create an ensemble of actors who are enthusiastic and hardworking, with a positive attitude. This piece will be high energy, fast paced with elements of song and dance. Please note some roles in this production do not require singing.

Performers with experience in physical theatre, commedia dell'arte, and outdoor theatre are encouraged to apply.

Please note, our performances and rehearsals take place outdoors which can include extreme weather conditions including direct sunlight, wind and light rain.  Before applying please consider carefully if you would feel comfortable working in these conditions.
