Kate Weston

Co-Director

Kate Weston is a Melbourne-based theatre maker who began her relationship with Melbourne Shakespeare Company in 2020 stage managing As You Like It, and clearly enjoyed herself, as they cannot seem to get rid of her. This is her seventh show with the company, and her first as a director! Kate has previously directed Athens Reborn (2015), written by Patrick White Playwrights’ Award winner Kim Ho; The Nun and the Highwayman (co-directed with Simon Farley, 2015); Taming (2016), a contemporary retelling of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew; and Heathers: The Musical (2017). Kate is currently completing the final year of her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre at The Victorian College of the Arts.
