A Note from the Director Emma Austin
As a theatre maker in 2021, it has been a particularly interesting time to be looking at the world and how we treat each other. I am so excited to showcase Melbourne Shakespeare Company’s brand-new family musical ‘Telling Tales’. In this show we are utilising stories from around the globe to tell a story of inclusion, friendship and of course, a cheeky little dog.
When Jen offered me the opportunity to direct, I physically couldn’t contain my excitement. A SHOW? FOR KIDS? With the MELBOURNE SHAKESPEARE COMPANY? As a teacher and actor, I couldn’t be more excited to create and showcase this new work. Working with Anthony Craig to create the show is a dream and we can’t wait to hear the screams of ‘HE’S BEHIND YOU!’
I truly hope you’ll all love the show as much as we do and that both the children and adults are enthralled, delighted and giggling the whole way through.
