Melbourne Shakespeare Company’s Shakey Slam is back by popular demand! The Shakey Slam is a monologue slam with a difference... all of the pieces will be from Shakespeare's plays or sonnets.

Watch 25 of Melbourne's best performers battle it out to become Shakey Slam champions with 4 awards up for grabs for Drama, Comedy, Student/Graduate and Audiences Choice. Hosted by comedian May Jasper, with live music from Ella Lawry and a raffle where you can win some fabulous prizes, The Shakey Slam promises to be an exhilarating night that's fun for theatre lovers far and wide.

Tickets for this event are pay-what-you-can with all money raised going towards Melbourne Shakespeare Company's production of Julius Caesar.
SHAKEY SLAM HISTORY
What is a Shakey Slam? It's a monologue slam with a Shakespearean twist! 30 actors perform a two minute Shakespeare monologue of their choice in one of three categories student/graduate, drama or comedy.

Our esteemed panel of judges then award points to each artist for a variety of different skills including comprehension of text, vocal dexterity and audience engagement, each artist is given a total score out of 120 and the artist with the most points in that category is crowned our champion!
