SHAKEY SLAM HISTORY

Since 2019 Melbourne Shakespeare Company have been putting on the worlds only Shakey Slam, a monologue slam dedicated to the works of William Shakespeare that raises money for our Shakespeare productions.

How it works

Up to 30 actors perform Shakespeare monologues in one of three categories. Our esteemed panel of judges award points to each artist for a variety of different skills including comprehension of text, vocal dexterity and audience engagement, each artist is given a total score out of 120 and the artist with the most points in that category is crowned our champion in their category! The audience also vote on their favourite performance to win the coveted Audience Choice Award.
