Tsungirai Wachenuka
Charmian
Tsungirai Wachenuka is a Zimbabwean multi-disciplinary artist working across theatre, TV, and film. She made her musical theatre debut in The Colour Purple and went on to play the lead in The Abyssinian Contortionist (2017), directed by Kate Champion. She has toured internationally with Paw Patrol Live and recently starred in the award-winning podcast Private Affairs by Christine Mwaturura.
Tsungirai has performed with Complete Works Theatre Company, exploring Shakespeare and Arthur Miller in educational tours. Outside of acting, she studies design, leads acting workshops with St Martins Youth, and is passionate about working with young people.
She has spent the past couple of years performing across Australia in the Melbourne Theatre Company’s Slap. Bang. Kiss., written by Dan Giovannoni and directed by Katy Maudlin. She is excited to delve back into the world of Shakespeare as the fierce and formidable Charmian.
