Julia Hanna

Iras/Octavia

Julia Hanna is an actor and drama educator based in Naarm. Julia began her training at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) in New York where she performed in productions including Five Women (dir. Pamela Scott), Dear Friends (dir. Jim DeMonic) and The Dancers (Dir. Susan Pilar). Julia then completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) where she performed in Tales From The Vienna Woods (dir. Mark Wilson), Slaughterhouse (dir. Georgina Naidu) and the The Wolves (dir. Yoni Prior). Julia then completed a Master of Teaching (Primary and Secondary) specialising in Drama.

After graduating from the VCA Julia made her professional theatre debut starring in Emily Sheehan’s ‘Monument’ (dir. Ella Caldwell) at Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre. Julia performed in ‘Monument' for two acclaimed seasons at Red Stitch and then continued with the show on a National Tour performing in Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia and New South Wales. Julia is very excited to be making her Melbourne Shakespeare debut in Cleopatra and Antony.
