Samantha Hastings
Samantha Hastings is Greenroom Award Nominated freelance theatre designer based in Naarm. Sam graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2020 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Costume Design and Construction for Theatre. Upon graduating from the VCA Sam has worked throughout Theatre, Film and Television.
Sam’s previous Melbourne Shakespeare Company credits include Costume Designer for Othello (2025). Outside of MSC Sam is a part of the Bloomshed collective. Working alongside the company since 2021, Sam has designed Set & Costume for their new works Paradise Lost, Animal Farm, Dodgeball Named Desire, The Importance of being Earnest and Pride and Prejudice.
Sam’s most recent works include: Anouk van Dijk’s contemporary dance piece Surge, Tyran Parke’s musical Our House, Beth Paterson’s new work Niusia (winner of The Scotsman 2025 Fringe First Award), Fred Pryce’s new work Alison goes to Aldi for her Aunt, costume designs alongside Melbourne Grammar and design work for Neighbours (2022-23).
