Jess Stanley
Intimacy Director
Jess is an actor, writer, voice artist, producer, intimacy coordinator and marriage celebrant from Naarm/Melbourne. Some of her recent credits as an intimacy director include Hamlet (Melbourne Shakespeare Company), POTUS (Lightning Jar), Punk Rock (Lunatix) and Footloose! the Musical at The Athenaeum.
As Co-Artistic Director of independent theatre company Spinning Plates, Jess’s stage credits include multi Green Room Award-winning The Crocodile, Green Room nominees Rhinoceros and Jess’s original play, Shut Up I’m a Vampire. She won the Melbourne Fringe Art Unbound Award for her work, JSMR, in 2021. Other stage credits include Ross & Rachel, Quite Drunk, Very Jesus-y, Navy Pier and Ménage. Screen credits include the 2025 feature film Ancestry Road, The Doctor Blake Mysteries and Glitch.
Jess holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts from Monash University, a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Swinburne University and has completed the Full Time Acting Course at the Howard Fine Acting Studio, Australia. In 2022 she was long listed for the Richell Prize for a draft of her first novel, Intimacy.
